Worth $4k?

Came across this ad for a homebuilt PC. Guy is asking $4k for it. I don't think it's worth that much, what do you guys think?

More about worth
  1. You could build the same PC, if not better, for around $2k.

The SSD and the PSU together net about $800, which mostly is wasted money.

Sound card is also not needed because MOBO has integrated ones already.

The graphics cards are top of the line obsolete tech.

The monitors and printer are about $260 each.

I would say if he sold it for $2500 then it would be a deal, but $4000 is not worth it.

Just save yourself some money and start a thread for a full computer system w/monitors, printer, kb&m, OS, desk, chair and lamp for $4000.
  2. Not at all worth 4k.

You can build a better performing setup for about 2k.
  3. $2000-2500
  4. That's what I figured. I wasn't going to buy it. Just thought it was funny that the guy was asking $4k for it and wanted to share. When I saw it I had a nice little laugh at the money he wasted building it.
  5. HD 6k and Nvidia Kepler incoming? Heck for peeps awaiting these and still need to chug along with a new working rig i would even hit something like a 955BE + 880G/IGP platform
  6. Definitely not worth 4 K
  7. Give it a few month and its worth a few hundred
  8. you tell that guy to get stuffed. that PC isent worth that much
  9. To me, that's a lot to ask for something that most of us at Toms could easily build for less. I would think that at that price you'd price out most besides enthusiasts, who know better...

    Pretty funny.
  10. He still has it for sell at that price. I don't know who he is targeting but whomever it is, he isn't hitting them
