Hi All!

I just finished building my first computer. It's working beautifully, but I can't help but notice it is throwing off a smell. It kind of smells very computery (excuse the word), almost like the inside of the case or the components. I have it well ventilated two with high quality fans (1 intake and 1 exhaust). In addition I have another intake from a lesser quality fan to create some positive pressure. Is this smell normal for a new computer? Does it dissipate eventually after the computer "breaks in" or is it something else?

Thanks!

Yep in general new computers have a "new" smell. Just like new cars but the smell will go away quicker than in a car. Make sure your temps are normal with Speedfan or a similar program and if so you are all good.

OK sounds good! I appreciate it. The temps on my x3 445 are all running around 25 C according to AMD overdrive. I'll give speedfan a try. Anyone know of a good program to check GPU temp? I especially want to let things wear in a bit before I try unlocking that 4th core :)
