Previous OCZ drives were rushed out to market and therefore needed many firmware updates before they were stable.
With the Vector series they tested the firmware an additional 6 months before they released it to market so that it would be more compatible with different systems.
That's why the Vector has a 5-year warranty when all previous models have 3-year warranties.
That's not to say the drive is perfect but there have been not that many compatibility/reliability problems where a firmware update is needed at this point.
So you'll probably have to wait a couple of months before the 1st firmware update is released.
