8GB is an strange number for tri-channel ram.
Please go to the Asus website and look at specific recommended ram sticks for your motherboard. Then get 3 of them for a total of 6GB or 12GB (6 is plenty).

Hello.

What are you doing with your PC? No one can say whether it is good or not as we do not know your needs. For example if this is a gaming build then it is very badly optimized.

Without knowing your needs:

It is generally advised to run triple channel memory with X58 systems. This means running 3 sticks, it is not because it gives better performance but more so that X58 is made for triple channel. Therefore kits such as 3,6 and 12GB are available.

Also I do not believe you can get 8GB of RAM for $100 so you have something wrong there.

If this build is made not to be upgraded then the PSU is overkill. I'd say around 500W will do you.

Also the 950 will offer a small increase in performance over the 930 and the 930 can be OCed to match it easily, therefore I would not go for the 950.

To be able to really provide money saving changes you need to provide much more information about your uses.

If your going to pay the cost of the X6 U might as well get an i5 quad core that would be likely to outperform for the majority of tasks

For gaming you should get a stronger GPU GTX460 1GB or HD6850 minimum Out of the two boards you listed the MSI FX board is the one I would choose. A X4 965BE outperforms the X6 1090 in gaming if you need to offset funds for a better GPU. I personally would go with a HD6870 with the option of crossfire later.

@rolli
Why the FX? Because of the x16/x16 vs the x8/x8? Or a different reason.

Yes OP because I never asked you what you were doing with your PC in my first post. Maybe read peoples posts.
