Really confused

so i know i need a cd/ dvd drive if im building a new PC, and that's why im confused. When I look on microcenter's pages they say burner for Example: AD-7280S-0B 24x SATA Internal DVD Burner - OEM / IDK if this is a DVD/CD player with a burner feature? or if its just a burner! please help me out

It will burn DVDs and CDs as well as read both types of media.

i help you a lot here. oem...is just another name for bulk drive. (drive with no cables or software). software would be burner software and dvd playing software.
cd-rom....audio cd play only cant write. audio cd 70 min of music or 700megs of data.
dvd-rom plays only dvd or cd audio disk..
dvd-writers read audio cd and dvd...write to cds and dvd up to 4.7g in size.
bd-rom...new blue ray players...read blue ray movies...cant write to media.
bd-ram...blue ray players...and older format reading. can write to new 9g blue ray disk.
drive contolers...older drives were ide (40 pin ribbon cable)
new mb are all mostly sata ports for the controller.
dvd-writers..sata on new egg about 18.00
br-roms......40.00
br writers 75.00
