Hi.

I'm troublehooting a problem with my asrock p67 extreme 6 motherboard.
My question is it normal that the onboard PowerLED / diagnose display stays dark after connecting the powersupply with board? Also pressing the power button doesn't show a thing. The system just won't turn on and no lights are lid.

I have all peripherals (cpu, memory, gfx card, etc) disconnected to find out if the problem lies with the board. With peripherals connected same thing.

I tried powersupply with another board and that seemed to work fine.
Connecting my old backup powersupply with the asrock doesn't do a thing either.

So does anyone know if you need to have (a working) cpu and mem installed for the board to power on or should it also work without it?

Thanks alot!

P.S. The whole system worked fine just a few days ago

You don't need hardware installed... just a functional power supply.

You should get beep codes - no codes = dead board.

Send it back.

Im having the same issue on my first build. I pretty much narrowed it down to a faulty motherboard and I dont think it had anything to do with shipping. :(
