Hey Guys,
I want to buy myself an SSD but I don’t know which one, Its between the GSKILL PHOENIX PRO 120GB AND THE CRUCIAL C300 128GB SSD. I know the Crucial is faster but is it worth the price hike?? I can get the GSKILL for about 28% cheaper than the Crucial. AND Will one even see the difference in real life performance?? For which one will you guys go for?? I want to use the SSD as my boot drive and run Win 7 on it. (I also looked at the OCZ RevoDrive but don’t think the extra money is worth the small performance hike) Please give your opinions.

Thanks a million
:)

O, sorry, and my system specs is:
-AMD 1090T X6 CPU,
-ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 Motherboard
-2 x 4GB DDR3-2000MHz G.SKILL FLARE RAM,
-850W Corsair HX PSU,
-ATI Radeon 4870 1GB Graphics Card
-2TB HDD etc.

Crucial C300 SATA3:
# Sequential Access - Read: 355MB/sec (SATA 6Gb/s) 265MB/sec (SATA 3Gb/s)
# Sequential Access - Write: 215MB/sec (SATA 6Gb/s) 215MB/sec (SATA 3Gb/s)

Gskill Pheonix, OCZ Vertex 2, OCZ Agility 2, Patriot Inferno <all the same>:
Sequential Access - Read: up to 285MB/s
Sequential Access - Write: up to 275MB/s

If you have SATA3 are are willing to deal with bleeding edge drivers, you get a bit faster throughput but it writes slower. Since you dont buy SSDs for the throughput (you buy them for the seek time), to me it doesnt make sense until the SATA3 models give you significantly more of a performance boost.

I would go with G.Skill because they have an excellent sandforce 1200 controller, making them great, fast and reliable SSDs. Sure the C300's are nice I am just sayin, I would go for g,skill
