My laptop not detecting dvd

i am having dell laptop n series inspirion 5030. when i am inserting the dvd into dvd writer its not detecting any thing just its making some noise and automatically ejecting the disc. pls help me

Try a different brand of discs, preferably good quality ones like Verbatim.
