I have 1TB HDD and 60GB SSD. I put the HDD and SSD in SATA6G_1 and SATA6G_2. I have set SATA mode to RAID in BIOS. I used the Intel RST and selected RAID0 so could only create a RAID0 array of about 100GB with the full SSD disk and 100 GB of the HDD. I have installed Win7 Ultimate 64bit in the RAID0 array. Now I am not able to see or use the rest of the HDD space to create addition logical partitions.

I am a newbie in this field so must have missed something or made some silly mistake in the above setup. Please suggest how to be able to use the rest of the HDD space. I don't have much data in the PC yet so if required I can erase everything and start new with the disks.

My PC set up
Intel 3.6 GHz LGA 2011 Core i7 3820 Processor
ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (ZT-60304-10P) 2 GB DDR5 Graphics Card
ASUS SABERTOOTH X79 Motherboard
G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) PC RAM (F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL)
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (ST31000524AS)
Kingston V+200 60 GB SSD Internal Hard Drive (SSD Now V+200)
Logitech MK220 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo
Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Mid Tower Cabinet
Cooler Master GX 750 Watts PSU
Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim Processor Cooler

You never want to create a RAID-0 array with a SSD and a HDD. Your array should be all HDDs or all SSDs.

The Read/Write performance of a RAID-0 array is based upon the drive with the slowest Read/Write speeds. So mixing SSDs and HDDs in a RAID array wastes the performance benefits of a SSD.

The total capacity of a RAID-0 array is based upon the drive with the smallest capacity.
So if you create a array with a 60GB drive and a 1TB drive your array's total capacity (before formatting) will be 120GB (60 x 2).
