SSD Question

On my next build I am going to use a SSD as the boot drive and install a regular hard drive as well. When loading Windows 7 for the initial time , will it know the SSD is the boot drive to install to or should I wait to install the regular drive after I have loaded Windows?
Thanks.

  1. When you install Win7 you can press advanced (?) and select the drive you want to install to. I do suggest not hooking up any drives other then the boot one however. Windows 7 will make a diagnostic/recovery partition that by default will place on your non boot drive. If there is only one drive then it will put the partition on the drive it has.
