I can't access the Bios or Boot Menu

Hi,
I have a Dell Dimension 1100. It was with 512mb ram and I recently upgrade the ram with exact specs o 1 GB. My windows are working fine but I cant access the Bios or Boot menu. When it starts I have tried F2 and 12 keys as it reads out in the screen but screen goes blank. Also when I put back the old ram the problem still exist. Can anybody help. Thanks.
