I have a problem with mainboard model PA78GT3-DG-LF , with AMD Athlon x2 260 ( 3.2ghz) CPU and 512mb DDR2 Ram
The system turn on ( fan , ect) , but do not post to bios screen . I get code FF-F5 flashing on the diagnostic post port.
Is my ram incompatible ? I have tested the ram in an Intel PC and it works fine .
Your reply will be highly appreciated

Thanks ,
JP Fourie

Well, this is what happens when you buy from an unreliable brand. None the less, an athlon 2 uses DDR3 memory, not DDR2. Still, a very bad brand indeed, though not the motherboards fault.
If it is an AM2/AM2+ it uses DDR2 if it has an AM3 socket, it supports DDR3

According to AMD my cpu support native DDR2 and DDR3 ram ( dual memory controllers on cpu) . Also the board is supposed to support this cpu ( AM2+). If someone can only help me out with the postport LED codes ( Code F5).

AMD ATHLON X2 260 3.2 GHz 45nm SOI 2MB socket AM3 65W

Type of Memory Supported :

X2 - Support for unregistered DIMMs up to PC2-8500 (DDR2-1066MHz) -AND- PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066MHz)

According to jetway's website the board does not support the newer "Regor" 45nm chips.
