How To Connect An 2.5 Sata (Laptop Hardirve) In To Desktop Pc

I Have An Laptop Sata Hardrive Which I Removed From My Broken Laptop I was Wondering How I might Connect It To My Desktop PC and What Additional Wires I Would Need And Also What I Need To Do The Use It Like An Hard drive For Just Putting Stuff On

You connect a SATA 2.5in HDD with the same cables/connectors you use for a "regular" SATA 3.5in drive. The connectors are the same.

It despends, some have the mini sata connectors and not the standard ones.

True, but not very often. Then, all that is needed is mini to full SATA data and power connectors. Something like would do the trick if the HDD has mini-connectors:

That should work. A lot of laptops that are thin will use them. I now that Dell was using them a few years ago on I think the D630 series.

If the hard drive will be permanently installed in the desktop you can also buy a 3.5" bracket designed to hold 2.5" disks in a tower.
