Ultra Low Power Computer for Media Server

Hello all,

I am looking toward building or (or buying pre-configured) a very low power machine to act as an always on network media server.

My current thought is toward an Atom based machine, so that I can leave PS3 Media Server up all the time and be able to copy music or movies or whatever to it whenever I like.

What are people's experiences with using these low power computers for these purposes?

Thanks

Hallo,

I'm using Atom Based home server several months.

See details:

Apache, File server, FTP, SAMBA, all works well.

Media streaming is OK only if you do not need online video conversion Otherwise you need more power to do that.

I'm using approach to pre-convert video for my iPad in free time and then stream it
