Acer E380 startup issue

Hello,

My acer e380 started doing a wierd thing at start up. The power light blinks and there is a little click 4 to 5 times. Then the computer starts up normally and runs without any issues (including playing BF2142 and WOW both on full settings).

Things not stock: I use Windows 7 64bit, I have an XFX 5570, I replaced the PSU with a 450w, I use wireless USB KB and Mouse, I took out the PCI Modem. Any advice/help would be great.

Sounds like you are describing HDD or optical drive clicking. You need to try to isolate the source (remove the case cover and listen closely with your ear as close to the HDD as you can get it). If the HDD, back up your important files ASAP and plan for a replacement HDD. If the optical drive, you have some time.

Really sounds like you are decribing the dreaded HDD "click of death". Good luck!!!
