OK here's my situation.

I have just assembled a new pc with the following configuration:

-Gigabyte Socket AM3+ GA-970A-UD3 GLan Audio Raid
-AMD phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 Ghz
-Kingston Hyper X 8 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz
-Samsung 1TB SpinPoint F3 sata 2 7200 rpm
-nVidia Geforce GT 520 1GB DDR3 PCI-E

These are the core components of the system.

I wanted to install Ubuntu Linux 11.04 which i did using a cd-rom to boot and install the operating system.

My problem is that during the startup the pc hungs at "loading operating system " black screen. Any suggestions of what i am supposed to do is welcome .This is frustrating because its a brand new machine. I wasn't sure about where should i put my question but i guess the motherboards section is probably the right place.

Did you find a fix for this? I'd appreciate it if you could send me a quick email whether or not you fixed this. I am not a member to this site. rusty.marfil@emc.com

I'm getting same issue with an intel board, loading 11.04 from a USB thumb drive. Just continuously rebooting after it gets to Loading OS
