I tried using hirens boot cd to hard drive test my hdd, however after selecting autoscan, my hdd didn't shot up.

i try using enter manually and just clicked something like the default ide port and it let me do a surface test, however the number of errors increase at the same rate the sectors are being scan so im pretty sure that's not my hdd
any idea?

Also, I tried looking at event view and there are 17xx errors even tho my hdd is only 1 week and a half old.

I have the same problem. I am trying to use Drive Image XML to back up a drive. Unfortunately, Hiren's can't see the HDD. I tried disabling UAC in the GUI but that did not help. :fou:
