Neverwinter Nights - No CD & copied CD question

My girlfriend has Neverwinter Nights but would rather play without the CD or
be able to use a copied CD (same reason someone else I know would've rather
used a copy for their Sims game...that way when the disk got damaged they'd
not have had to send it in to the manufacturer & pay for a replacement).
Has anyone had any luck with the no-cd hacks? I've found a patch for v1.31
& v1.62 with no-cd hacks for them? Also I'd like to do the same for BG1 &
BG2 (with expansions), I think I did a minimal install but have all of the
CD's copied to the hard drive (over a network) & that does prevent me from
having to change disks, only input the main disk to play (which I do use a
copied disk for, but would still rather not have to use any disk).
