X8 vs x16?

On this jetway mobo I have, the north bridge is a 790GX.

I mean, it's a pretty awesome north bridge if you ask me, but.....

Since I have two PCIe x16 lanes, when I run CrossFireX they will both be x8.

How much of a performance hit will this be?

More about : x16

Not much, here are two nice little charts to sum it up for you and show SLI and CF scaling.

This one is using 2 5850s, its from their release review so scaling may have changed a bit since but probably not too much.

Thanks! I didn't realize how fast people would be on this forum, lol. I was planning on some 4850's in CF, so this helps a lot! I was actually expecting a pretty severe decrease...

I've got a pair of 4890's in x8/x8 mode and the performance is very very good. Most high end GPUs are so powerful that putting them into an x8/x8 config as opposed to an x16/x16 config=very little to no loss, as the charts have shown.
