Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my thread I appreciate it and any advice or to check whether all my parts would work together.

Going for a budget system..basically what everyone else does. My price range is ~$1000. I'm iffy on choosing a monitor, and keyboard.

Uses-
1)Video Editing/Recording games, tutorials, etc. via Fraps
2)3DCG
3)2DCG
4)Audio Production(DAWS)
5)But of course gaming! (Crysis(specifically the editor, Left 4 Dead 2)

1) look for combos! you can probly trim $150-200 off the same parts with newegg's combos.
2) Try to get the 1 GB version of the 460.
3) theres a nice 4-pack of Rosewill case fans for $10
4) If you get a keyboard, do you need a mouse?
5) the Samsung Spinpoint F4 320 GB is cheaper & faster than the WD Caviar Blue
6) if you can swing the extra, a 1680x1050 monitor will be a lot more room.

Thank you for the reply. The CPU and TX650 are in a combo. I'll look up the pack of 4 fans. If they are blue LED ;-). I'll check out a benchmark of the 768mb. vs 1gb. I'll check out the other HD. I chose WD because I heard they have more reliability. I'll check out the monitor too.

Conclusion-

-Sticking with the 768 MB version of the GTX 460. I only see about 1-4 frames difference in the benchmarks here at this site.

-The 4 pack is 3 pin only. I'd need extensions to get it across the case into the motherboard instead of a molex.

-Was able to pull out 2 other combos.

-No change in monitor. A 19.5 inch will be plenty since I already look at a 14" Laptop LCD for the past 4 years.
I don't care too much about graphics anyway. I'm used to playing games at the lowest setting and tweaking my computer to pull out a few more frames w/o OCing.

-I'll use the Spinpoint F4.

Changes-
-Mobo & OS Combo
-Case and 'XMS3 1600 DDR3 4GB'

Now...to decide what to upgrade and to move around. For now I'll keep it this way.

Not going bigger than a 19" ? Size doesn't matter ? Yes it does. I originally went for the 28" monitor they had but it wouldn't fit your budget. I use a 28"er. Not looking back. I started with a 19, went to 22 and now got the 28 incher over a 120Hz model. Not sorry I did. Your inexperience is showing but live and learn.

Now I chastise you for the video card. Screw this site and any other site that that grade video cards on frame rates alone. That doesn't tell the true story. The more video ram ( 768 vs 1gig in this instance ) could be the meaning of playing the game and being able to play it well.

If you cop out by saying "I'm used to playing at low res anyway"..... you're crapping on yourself. Why spend the money at all if you don't want good results in the end ?

Hmmm, you have a few good points there. I will argue a point of yours. First...I apologize but I should have mentioned that this is my first build. Thus proving that my inexperience is showing. Two...One of the root causes of building a new computer for myself was to enjoy Crysis at very high settings. As well as be able to process more layers in Photoshop, more audio channels, and vsts. In the end I am trying to get the best results possible. For my budget.

I will take your advice and look at the monitor another time. As well as the video card if I can afford it.

I will stick with my word and say that I thank you very much for the added advice, and that I greatly appreciate it!
