CPU + MOTHERBOARD WATTAGE COMPATABILITY

Hello,
Can I use a CPU with a wattage of 125W on a Motherboard that specifies 95W and would this cause any damage

Usually only with a bios update to support 125w cpu's and even then some say its not the best thing to do.

If the cpu isn't listed as supported on the mobo's support list and there is no bios update then no.

If the motherboard specifies 95W CPUs it wont have BIOS support for a 125W CPU, because running one has the potential to overtax its CPU VRMs and make them overheat and fail prematurely.
