The cheapest, least expensive SSD recommendation that's at least 4GB.

I'm setting up a box that will run Ubuntu Server 12.04.1. Ubuntu Server is a headless OS which has no GUI, command line only. Overall even with all of the software and server packages I want installed I barely use 2GB of it. I'm looking to get a SATA III SSD... but anything that's 4GB or larger will do the job just fine. I know this might be a borderline "LOL what?" question but I don't need any more space since I'll have data drives running, so I figured I'd save the bacon and get a smaller one if the shoe fit. Anything to suggest?

cheap and least one should you get is OCZ Agility 3 40gb.

That looks like a SATA II. Is there a SATA III version worth considering?

IMHO, you will live to regret ever asking for the cheapest SSD. BTW, Newegg will list all their products by price with just a few mouse clicks.

Well, yeah, I know that. My intention behind asking was to see if there were any significantly smaller SSDs that most people, NewEgg included, may have written off as being unwanted. Then I could begin the search accordingly.
