Brushes in Photoshop and Others

Is there anything similar to the "Art History Brush" feature in Photoshop -
the one that manipulates the images original pixels instead of simply
painting over them - in any of the other photo processing programs? I
haven't examined PSP, PhotoImpact, or Digital Image Suite in any depth, but
I couldn't see the equivalent functionality. If it is there, what is it
called, or how do you access it?

Thanks,

My PhotoImpact is several versions old, so this may not pertain to the newest
one, but does not have such a feature. Cannot comment on PSP, but their NG,
comp.graphics.apps.paint-shop-pro probably can answer your question.
