Upgrading motherboard + RAM

Hello i am putting a ASUS Crosshair V in my system. I am thinking of getting this ram:

Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/8G

is this ram good for mild overclocking and is it's speed/performance good.

Ross

PS: i am upgrading to a new board for bulldozer support.

  1. Can people please reply
  2. You're asking people to vote.

If the modules are on the QVL, then they should work. You should be able to overclock the CPU, but you probably can't overclock the memory over it's rated speed and voltage.

They are not on the QVL but kingston claims they will work
  4. I suggest that you read the Crosshair V reviews on Newegg and other sites. Several reviewers mention what memory kit(s) they used and the issues they ran into. Search for Kingston to dramatically limit the results.
