Is a i5-7xx a must for gamming or will a i3-5xx do? i am planning to build a pc(1st one). i am planning to get a msi gtx460 cyclone 1gb gpu. will d i3 be enough? i am on a tight budget.pls help!
 
Solution
If you have not ordered your parts yet it is advisable to wait for the new intel releases in early January, 2011. I am in a similar situation and I am going to wait for the i5 2500. As far the graphics card, Nvidia are releasing the gtx560 on the 20th of January. So if you can wait this is a good option. Here are some links to news about these upcoming releases:

However if you have already purchased a motherboard with the LGA 1156 socket then this is not an option and i would go with the i5 760.

havnt purchased a board. planning on having d system ready by 1st week feb,so i will wait 4 the new card from nvidia. actually am leaning towards the ati 6870...
