Using a Hard Drive outside the case

Hello,

I have an old Hitachi Deskstar 3.5 hard drive and was wondering if it'd be possible to use it without having to put it inside my case.

My motherboard has x1 eSATA / x1 Power eSATA ports on the back plate so I assume the drive will be compatible with these(?), but how could I power it?

I've read that you can buy a SATA/power cable to use with a Power eSATA port, but from looking at the few available on amazon not all drives seem to work with them.

Is there any other (cheap) cable I could use to power the drive? Or anything specific you could recommend?

Thanks
