Wouldnt it be crazy if we could "SLI" a PS3 or an XBOX360?

Technically, we should be able to do something? Any creative modders? Or some guy with all the time to kill to try to explain this so console gamers have a slight chance of having a decent machine with a preformance of an, hahahahahahahah 8800gt or maybe at least a gtx260, but I highly doubt it!!

Anyway, what do you think, to make consoles more like pcs and eventually upgradable, this might be an interesting option for the next gen at the very least right?

Even if the hardware and OS on a console supported it, the link between the two devices would be so slow in comparison to their internal speed that the two devices would actually be slower together than they would alone.

Gaming consoles are a dying technology. In 5 years, sitting around playing games on a console in front of a TV will be obsolete.

That requires Linux support and Sony later bricked that with a firmware update. Most users don't give two shits about that but tell that to those who did make use of it and the military that built a cluster of these.

I remember reading an artical or something where Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo) hooked up around 4 PS3's and and ran GT5 at a super high resolution.

EDIT: Here it is http://kotaku.com/5093592/gran-turismo-5-prologue-runni...

According to the hyperbole laden official report, every man, woman and child in attendance had their brains melted by the refresh rate.

I'm not surprised, that's a $100,000 projector with maybe a $20,000 lens fitted.

Actually Ive read both those reports, the Grand Tourismo one and also the Military connecting not 3 but more than 1000PS3's to form a network and map out the human brain?!? It sounds like Folded@home stuff for cancer but apparently if this can be done now, why not make use of this and prolong the life of the PS3?
