Hey guys, I'm using the acer M5620 Desktop PC, running with an Industry Standard 250W PSU, I'm not sure what kind of MOBO I have, so those of you "Techy's" out there probably know.

I recently purchased an XFX Radeon 5770, but is totally not compatible with my PSU.
What's the next-up good PSU to operate this graphics card?

Processor: Intel 2 Core Quad Processor Q6600 @2.3GHz

well, first off "industry standard" is simply telling you its a normal, no-frills, lame, average, power supply. looking at an image on google of the back, i can tell two things:
1. its a standard atx psu.
2. the brand of the psu is FSP (aka SPI)...

these two are inexpensive but good, sufficient for your needs

(the seasonic is a little bit better quality but the antec has a little more power)

this one is more expensive but even better quality and a little more power (for more headroom), but also more expsnive...

that said, any high quality 500w psu will be more than enough. stick to a good brand like corsair, antec, seasonic, nzxt, ocz (is not quite as good but still good)...

i know that - lol im not saying its an immediate issue. its a decent psu from reputable company - its just that its their lowest-end series and that comes at a cost of quality - the 550w version is built a little better (besides having a bigger fan), so thats why i always recommend that. but as i said the 500w versin WILL WORK, but the seasonic 520w would outdo both of the antecs in quality and reliabilty and quietness...

Now, have you checked my Motherboard? And what Ports I'll be needing?
Or do all general 500-600W PSUs have the same ports.

it is a standard atx-compliant psu. you can verify that by looking for a 20 or 24pin plug on the motherboard and a square 4pin plug on the motherboard. the hdd and dvd plugs are always the same. was i right about the psu you have now being SPI/FSP?
