Clone a SATA 2 HDD to a SATA 3

I have a laptop with Win 7 Pro 64 bit and a Seagate SATA ll HDD. I would like to clone the drive to a WD Black of the same specs (size, RPM etc) except the WD is a SATA lll. The WD website has Acronis software for this but the tutorial for cloning shows a clone from one WD drive to another. Does anybody know if I can expect to encounter any problems since the drives are different manufacturers and different SATA? Also if can successfully clone it will I have any problems booting off it with the SATA ll controller in the ASUS? I don't care if it defaults to SATA ll just as long as I don't have any other compatibility issues. Has anybody tried this? I'd go for a SATA ll drive but I can't find one of the size I want.
