I'm looking for a good gaming PC for around $800-$1000
Ok so the things I already have picked out are:
HD 5770: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447&cm_re=hd_5770-_-14-150-447-_-Product
Corsair 650w PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005&cm_re=650_watt-_-17-139-005-_-Product
Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=3463938&SID=
Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236063&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=3463938&SID=
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103849&cm_re=AMD_Phenom_II_X6-_-19-103-849-_-Product

Total: $724

Things I need: (I don't need a keyboard or mouse or case)
8-9 gigs RAM
Motherboard
Dual Layer DVD Burner
Maybe a case fan (i'm just using a pretty old Dell case and I don't know if I can put a fan in)

Also, if you could tell me if the parts are compatible, the PSU could handle them, and if theres something better than what I have if you could suggest it but remember my budget is $800-$1000. And if theres anything else I need that i forgot you can tell me that too.

Solution
You dun need more than 4GB RAM and your current config is way too cpu/board heavy and GPU lite for a serious gaming rig for the $$ so

Tower @ $684AR

23" LCD $150

$834AR in Total

Suggest u go with a new case as old Dells aren't known to offer half decent airflow even hehe
