Bios freeze with ssd?

I just bought an intel 300 120 gb ssd to put into my computer. But when I plug it all in and boot it up, the first screen you see when booting up your computer (the one that usually says like what motherboard you have and all the keys to push to get to your bios etc.) it freezes and I get like white and black lines on the top of my screen that just move up the screen. Please help! Thanks :p

  1. Does it still do that when you take the SSD out? Also give us your full system specs. Thanks.
  2. Nope, when I plug in my old hdd everything boots fine and I get into windows right away. I got a z68 gigabyte motherboard, gta 580 pny, i5 2500k, and gs700 psu.
  3. Found out what the issue is, I was plugging the sata cable into an sata 2 instead of sata 3 slot :/. I thought they where just numbering them but I guess not. Thanks for the help though!
  4. Very sorry for posting three times in a row, but I also have another problem. When ever I try to open something on my old hardrive, I get some kind of error and can't open that thing. How can I fix this? Thanks
