So I don't have cash yet, but have been putting together 2 builds a week based on new eggs weeday/weekday discounts & combos. Decided to post one.

how would the below work, any major holes? moderate gaming at 1920x1080 reasonable? basically looking to be as far under $700 as possible with os and no periphs.

Looks great. I would consider the WD 640 black for the bigger cache and dual processors for 10.00 more< taking account the 15 promo code and the WD free shipping. MB could be better, but for the $$$ it's good, unless you're comfortable with an open box deal. Have had a few of those and have been happy with them.

WD Black 640 is slower than the F3 and the Seagate due to platter density. Pretty much all the newer drives have 500GB platters making them faster than the older 320GB designs.

It's a good drive. The Spinpoint F3 batuchka has listed is a better choice though if you have not bought it yet. Maybe a bit more reliable.
