Powering Dual 6950's?

Hey guys, I currently am building a Phenom II 955 OCed with a 6950 GPU and eventually adding another one. I am looking at a 850 Antec PSU but I am wondering if that will be enough once I crossfire?

this wont work, this is one of antec's proprietary cpx form factor units that only works in select ANTEC cases NOT COOLERMASTER...

    you can use this instead

  3. Phew, thanks. Any other problems you see?
  4. one thing: avoid samsung hard drives. they are of less quality and less reliable than wd. i would go for a wd caviar black 1tb.

    other than that youre fine
  5. umm im going to disaree with shovenose here on the HDD, the samsung f3 hdd's are undoubtedly one of the best hdd's available on the market recommended by almost everyone.
  6. Yep, I have Samsungs in raid and they have been absolutely faultless and whisper quiet.

I am also going to say you could easily run that setup with a decent 750w psu although the 850w Corsair SN suggested is a good option and a good price but heres a couple more options.

Not sure of your budget but the Seasonic would be my 1st choice.
  7. Thanks a bunch guys, I ended up ordering that list, minus I got a small 320G hard drive because I am going with a SSD and a 2TB down the road but funds wouldn't allow currently. Thanks for all the help fellas.
  8. I wasn't sure about this, I didn't want to spend $230 for a x6 quite yet. There is a strong possibility I'll end up upgrading the CPU within the next 2 years, So i rather save some money now and be able to splurge when the next gen comes around.
