250gb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm Noisy

So, i build a server pc with some leftover parts i had and i use a 250gb seagate barracuda 7200rpm drive for my os, it's a couple years old and it's really noisy. Anything i can do to try to minimize the noise? Thanks alot

  1. I am not sure what kind of case you are using, but most HDD tray's would allow you to put a thin rubber strip (found at a local home improvement store) between the HDD and the Metal on the tray. This should bring the noise down.
  2. You can try enabling/disabling APM on the drive. CrystalDiskInfo and some other utilites should allow you to do it.
