Upgrading to OC 2500k from stock i7 920

I have currently been upgrading my old HP m9600t and was looking to finish off my build with a set of full new parts, but had a few questions. I current have added a msi gtx 560ti, corsair 850 hx (overkill I know), and corsair 600t. leaving me with the shitty hp mobo stock i7 920 and 8 gigs off ram. I am looking to upgrade to a new mobo/2500k OC/ram. How much of an upgrade would I be able to see in games and programs like illustrator going from a 920 to 2500k (probs clocked around 4.5). also is it worth it to upgrade to 16 gigs of ram since I do use illustrator and sony vegas pretty regularly.

What is a decently cheap plus good mobo for 2 way sli without all of the unnecessary things?

  1. You will probably notice a 10% boost in most things, so noticable but not massive.

16 GB of ram is a ton, but Illustrator does eat it up, and if you can afford it, it will definitely make you happy.

This is my fav MB for what you are doing, but it is a tad pricey

I tend to like ASUS, Gigabyte and EVGA for MB.
