Is there any freeware that allows you to place a cache file, or create a cache partition, on the primary SSD to speed up reading, and possibly writing, on a secondary drive? So far, I've found VeloSSD but their site looks horrible and it's not freeware. All articles that I have reviewed talk about having a secondary SSD for caching which I don't currently have the money for.

My setup:

Windows 7 Pro
120GB Kingston SSD
2TB Seagate Barracuda

The Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver does this for free.

Once you've set it up run PreCacher and you're good to go (it caches the maximum number of files to RAM and SSD, Hybrid HD, etc.).

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have an AMD machine. Is there any regular software that doesn't depend on my mobo's chipset/manufacturer, or am I mistaken and does this work on all machines regardless of components?

PreCacher: Work on all machines regardless of components, so long as .NET Framework is installed.

Intel RST requires an Intel chip-set based motherboard.
