I AM TRYING TO MAKE MY COMPUTER AS FAST AS POSSIBLE IT IS A DELL OPTIPLEX GX280 AND I HAVE 5.0GB OF RAM IN IT BUT WINDOWS XP PRO 32 BIT VERSION ONLY PICKS UP 2.99GB OR SHOULD I SAY 3.0GB OF RAM....

IF YOU WANT ANY INFORMATION LIKE WHAT IS IN MY COMPUTER HERES A PICTURE OF WHATS IN IT ITS A SNAPSHOT OF THE PROGRAM SPECCY THAT TELLS YOU WHATS IN YOUR PC...

Not surprising. A 32 bit OS can only address up to 4GB of memory, because of this a 32 bit copy of windows XP usually only gives you access to about 3GB of memory, the remainder is lost to system addressing and addressing for devices on the board. If you want to be able to use all 5GB of memory you put in your system you will need to move to a 64 bit OS, i would suggest Windows 7 64 bit over XP 64 bit.
