Setting memory speed

Just upgraded to a new MOBO and CPU: Intel board DP67BGB3 and i5 quad 2500, 3.3G. Memory is 8GB of Corsair DDR3, 1600.

I noticed in the BIOS that my memory is running at 1333. Shouldn't it be running at 1600? If so, how do I get it up there? I guess a power change is required, but I'm lost. Thanks for any help.

DDR3 memory usually defaults to 1333. Higher speeds are overclock speeds that you should manually set in the BIOS. DDR3 defaults to 9-9-9-24 1333MT/s at 1.5v.

Thanks for the response. I found the XMP setting and it's now running at 1600. I may set it back to default however, 1600 doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference.
