Hello everyone,
Cmczona here. I have an HP Laptop that is just about 2 years old. Lately I've been having some problems with things slowing down, freezing, Starting up and Shutting down correctly(Sometimes it takes so long I just hit the OFF button.)

To rule out Software issues I backed up my important documents and reformatted the Hard Drive with a clean install of everything.

To rule out Virus/Malware I have ran scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes and AVG 2013. Everything was clean.

I have tested the Hard Drive with 3 different programs which gave me a score of 70% reliability, 100% performance, 100% error resistance on Hard Drive Inspector Pro. HDD Health gave me a score of 82% Health.

Here is the results from my SMART Test:

Your report omits the Worst values of each attribute. Perhaps that explains why the following attribute has a warning:

YELLOW 3 Spin Up Time 100 0 0 (000000000000h) - OC

Otherwise it looks perfectly OK.

The following 3 attributes are reporting problems with bad sectors. At present the drive has replaced 390 (= 0x186) bad sectors.

YELLOW 5 Reallocated Sector Count 81 36 390 (000000000186h) 6/28/2014 LC OC EC SP
187 Reported Uncorrect 1 0 64,979 (00000000FDD3h) - OC EC SP
YELLOW 196 Reallocation Events Count 81 36 390 (000000000186h) 6/28/2014 LC OC EC SP

I don't understand their significance, but the drive has recorded 955 (= 0x3BB) Command Timeouts:

188 Command Timeout 100 0 3,350,125,609,915 (030C030C03BBh) - OC EC SP

The following attribute would appear to be reporting 1617 shock events:

191 G-Sense Error Rate 100 0 1,617 (000000000651h) - OC EC SP

The following attribute is probably OK:

YELLOW 195 Hardware ECC Covered 50 0 121,233,669 (00000739E105h) - OC ER EC

Many authors of SMART software misinterpret certain counterintuitive attributes.

For an explanation, see http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/HDD/Seagate_SER_RRER_H...

Also see this article for SMART info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.

In short I wouldn't trust your drive. I would backup and replace it.

Imaged the Hard Drive using True Image 2013 (Free trial on their website)
Bought a New WD Black 500 GB Hard Drive for $56.00 on Amazon
Replaced my Hard Drive and copied Image to NEW HD (Took about 2 hours but I didn't know what I was doing :)

New Hard Drive tested 100% with Hard Drive Inspector vs. 82% on Old Hard Drive
New Hard Drive tested 100% with Hard Drive Sentinal vs. 26% on Old Hard Drive.

Basically I am glad I made the change. Everything is running fast and smooth and things were always idleing before and I was always having problems. I've had this new HD for 10 days now and had no problems. I am glad I made the change and wished I would have done it sooner.

Now I'm thinking of trying to run SpinRite or something on the old HD and see if I can salvage it as an External HD :)

Thanks for all your help!
