I have HP running XP with SATA hard drive. would like to add IDE for extra stora

I have an HP box that's about 8 years old and runs XP. It has one hard drive that is SATA. My previous computer ran win2000 and I'd like to take that EIDE hard drive with the data and install it in my "new" XP box. Don't want dual-boot or anything fancy, just access to the files on the old hard drive and a little extra storage space.
1. Can it be done?
2. If so, do I configure the EIDE as master or slave?
3. Will I need special cables? If so, what will I need?
4. How do I set so computer continues to boot the SATA drive?

3. An IDE cable.
4. If need be, configure the BIOS to keep the SATA drive as the boot drive.

Don't know. How do I find out? Will I see some sort of IDE input on the motherboard?
