Gtx 470 vs hd5850

hi guys im buying a new pc soon, what gpu should i go for the gtx 470 or the 5850? i heard that the gtx 470 runs hot, my pc has to last me about 5-6 years will the heat be a problem?

well I'm myself not sure yet. Last two days I was about to buy the 470 but today I changed my mind again. I prefer have a slightly slower but much quieter card. So I think I will go for the 5850.

Well, it depend on you, FERMI cards are produce a lot of heat and noise (mostly) than ATI 5xxx series...

im leaning more towards the 5850, but does anybody have some benchmarks on the two cards, most of the time im going to be playing bfbc2 on a 1920x1080 screen

check this thread, I posted some benchs of the two cards. I had a look at a lot of benchmarks and I noticed that some have tendency to show the 5850 as stronger as the 470, some the opposite. I tend the believe that those that the 470 is a bit faster but not so much.
