Regarding pen drive

Hello,
when my usb drive insert the computer show "you need to format the disk in drive J: before you can use it. Do you want to format it?" then when I select to format disk, it show "Windows can't format J Chek to see that the disk and drive are connected properly,make sure that the disk is not read-only,and then try again.For more information,search Help for read-only files and how to change them" How can format it? Please help me it

Is it read-only?

<2>. Recover your data.
Before the format, you should ensure whether there is something important on your pen drive.
If you do store something important there, you may need a free pen drive recovery tool to get back your data. This free application has helped me recover many of my files from a unformatted drive. You should try it.
<3>. Format it.
If you do not have anything important there, you should forma it :
Start => Setting => Control Panel =>Administrative Tools => Computer Management =>Disk Management=> Right click your drive on the list => format it.
