Hello,

How many % does it differ from these 2 processors?

And i want to have a future proof computer so i may choose 1200watt power supply, and a great case like HAF X the biggest for ATX motherboards, and i want to buy very cheap motherboard and processor before i update my hardwares later on. Can you give me a hand, i have a big problem in choosing if i should stay with x68 motherboards or the new asus maximus iv extreme. And i will not overclock my cpu. Peace

All we have that I've seen are the passmark bench for the i7-2600k
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-2600K+%40+3.40GHz
which is 9,178 to the i7-950's score of 6,333 about a 45% increase.

However this doesn't translate into real world results. It can vary widely depending upon applications but the i7-950 does look quite sad in comparison according to that benchmark.

There are some new high end P67 motherboards coming out so full (16X) Crossfire and SLI is on for some very high end LGA 1155 motherboards apparently.

I have earlier just checked out the site and yes indeed it is sad, but i was not quite sure if the scores where reliable. But we cant tell for sure until release.

By the way, which motherboard should i go for? I prefer to have the best motherboard atleast so i can survive for a long time, i just want a great gaming rig.

By the way, you gave me a great answer. peace.

True that's why it's a K (overclocking) model. There are of course much lesser expensive LGA 1155 boards without SLI or Crossfire.Of course if one had a single GTX 580 it (SLI or Crossfire) probably wouldn't matter much and could be quite satisfied.

Both Procssors are great. The Intel core i7 950 can support threee channels of ddr3 800 1066 ram. It clock speed is lower than the second generation. So that might be a little bit of an issue if your not going to overclock. The second generation has intergrated graphics. So now you have to ask your self do I want to buy a Graphics card or use the intergrated one. I personaly am use a two sapphire Radeon hd 6870's in crossfire. I think I get Better Profotmance with external. And If you want set for a while external would be the way to go. They both have turbo boost techology. I personaly went with the 950 becuse of I could use and external Graphics card and have three channels of ram inwhich I think it makes a big defferece. Either way if you go with Intel you will have made a great choice!

Thanks for your answer, i have purchased a core i7 2600k and i am happy with it, and i bought the p67 ud7 gigabyte and im satisfied it is great when it comes to overklocking plug a gpu hd 6950 xfx if i remember it correct.

so i think that i made the right decision, thanks for your effort brother.
