External hard drive not being recognised anymore

Last response: in Storage

I have owned a Seagate 1TB external hard drive for over a year now and have never had any problems with it until the last few days. Over the last few days it has not been getting detected by my computer properly, resulting in me having to unplug and plug it back in multiple times before it begins working. Now today it is not even been getting detected at all and I don't know what to do. The only things I think it could be is either A) it is faulty and has died on me or B) that the cable that connects it to the usb slot on my computer (or other device) is broken or the part where the cable connects to the hard drive is broken. I was wondering whether someone here has had a similar problem or knows how to fix it.
Any help would be appreciated. :)

Have you connect it on another computer after trying all your USB cables?
