So i made a post a little bit ago about a gt 240 vs 9600 gso. I got my answer and planned on getting the gt 240. But then i looked up my motheboard (ecs pt890T-A) and it has a PCI-E 1.0 slot. Would i have any problems installing the new card in my mboard? And more importantly would the upgrade of video card (9400gt currently) be worth it considering i have the older PCI interface? Basically, would my older interface be a bottleneck in performance, negating the video card upgrade?

Yes, just don't use a 2.1 in a 1.0 slot. 2.0 in 1.0 is fine though.

It will bottleneck your performance but only on higher end cards, and even then its like a 5 percent decrease in performance. Nothing to worry about.

Yes it will be worth it.
