Which should I buy these processors are the Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 or AMD atholon x4 my computer called acer aspire5920G with intel core 2 duo t5800 and nvidia GeForce 9300

Intel and AMD make competing chips and are not swappable between the two different sockets.

So if you have an E8500 then you need an Intel chip. I checked o nthe Intel site and the T9400 was released in two differing packages (479 / 478 and the T5800 was only available in 478. The other problem being the T9400 has a faster bus and more than likely wont work on your computer.
