Question about minimum requirements

I could not find a forum for UT 2004 and have a question I am hoping this
forum can help with. I have been playing UT 2003 for a while on a P3 800 w/
XP Pro, 768mb of ram, and an Nvidia GeForce 3 Ti200 128ddr video card. The
game runs very nicely. I would like to upgrade to UT 2004 but noticed this
afternoon that the minimum CPU requirements are at least 1 gig.. I am sure I
have played other games where I wasn't exact on all the minimum requirements
and had no problems whatsoever. So I am wondering that since I have so much
more ram and video then what is required, if I would run fine with UT 2004?
Thanks and hope to get some good answers soon as I would like to get this
game. I thought UT 2003 was so awesome and all I hear is how UT 2004 is so
much more. Thanks in advance.

The demo isn't a good indication of how well his machine will play the
retail version.

It won't be unplayable, but you will have to turn down some detail.

I've done a fair bit of testing on different combinations of settings.
If you set everything to "Normal" and then set "World Detail" to Low
and uncheck "Projectors" then it will probably be playable.

Then you're in the minority. The demo shipped with half-sized
textures and scaled-back sound. Many, many people complained that the
demo was very playable on their setup where the full game was not.

I personally found that the demo wasn't nearly as optimized as the
final product. "hence the fact that they called it a beta demo". The
final product doesn't crash, reboot the system, lock up the system,
and runs a LOT faster for me. I would definitely not consider that
demo to be a good judge of how the final product will work on a given
system.

I'll second that... Until I upgraded to 1GIG of ram anyways
