Strange Memory Problem

Hi all,

I have a really strange memory problem maybe someone can give me some advice.

My current setup is:
Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H
AMD Phenom ii X2 550
Corsair Dominator 2 x 2Gb CMP4GX3M2A1600C9

System I'm trying to build
MSI P55M-GD41
Intel Core i5 655K
And I want to use the same memory from the above system.

So I put the 2 DIMMs in slots 1 and 3 of the MSI board (as per the manual) and Windows cannot install, it reboots after the initial loading screen. So I remove DIMM 3 and Windows installs properly. I reboot and run Memtest for 1 iteration and it runs successfully. I swap DIMM 1 with the DIMM 3 I had previously removed and bam! errors!!! Funny that this very memory was working in my AMD system just before pulling it out, so I'm thinking maybe somehow I blew the memory.
I take the 2 DIMMs and put them back into my AMD system, run Memtest for 5 hours, and 0 errors ZERO!

I'm confused as to why 1 of the DIMMs doesn't work on the Intel board, but 1 does. If it was incompatible then neither of them should have worked.
Can anyone shed some light on this situation? Should I RMA the memory? or the board?
Thanks

thanks for the reply. I did that, 1 DIMM runs perfectly in every slot, the other logs errors withing 15 secs of memtest in every slot of the MSI board. That very same DIMM will run for a full iteration in each slot with no errors on the Gigabyte board.

9-9-9-24 rated for 1600Mhz and 1.65V
They run 9-9-9-24 @ 1506Mhz on my gigabyte system.
Left them at base 9-9-9-24 @ 1333Mhz on the MSI system. Was trying to get everything stable before overclocking.

If it doesn't run at 1333, I very much doubt it's gonna run at 1600. As the topic says, this is a very strange problem. Don't know if this problem extends to a higher level like if the different memory controllers on the boards access different parts of the memory or access the memory in different ways. I really don't know. I have my brands new i5 655k just waiting to be unlocked and I'm ready to dump this AMD system. So frustrating.....

was trying to keep my costs down, but I already asked a friend to borrow a pair on friday so I'll do that. Will also try running them at the recommended settings. Will update later this week

I know that's why I bought the Dominator RAM last year. I don't use anyrhing generic in my PCs. I just had no need to get new RAM for my intel system as I am decommisioning the AMD system. But from the looks of it I may need a new board or RAM or both so have to wait till next paycheck

Here are pictures of the entire process with all the errors etc. I started off how I left the system with 2 x 2gb kingston valueram in it, rebooted to show you the screens, shut down inserted both 2 x 2gb corsair ram, tried to set them to 1333, showed on boot how it reverts to 1066, then crashes in memtest. Took out dimm3, booted to windows with dimm1, took screens, shut down took out dimm1, put the dimm i removed from 3 into slot 1, bios reverts to 1066, tried to change in bios to 1333 and reverts to 1066 on boot. booted to windows to take screens. phewww...
hope this helps...
and thanks for all the assistance thus far.
