    Backup your data and run a checkdisk.
  3. How can i run checkdisk on the partition containing my os(c drive)
  4. start / computer / right click the c: and select properties then click on tools and check disk now
  5. yeah, i have done that, but it says that 'could not be done when the drive is in use'.
  6. it should ask if you want to do this next time you reboot.

  8. You can try to change the sata cable and port and keep an eye on the counter.
