Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.configuration_manage (More info?)
I would like to believe there is an easier way to do this. To put XP/2000
machines on our network, we have to put the users in the local users account
as power users. This is a major pain when you have other users that need,
for whatever reason, to use someone else's pc. If they are not a member of
the local user group then the AntiVirus software and Office freak out. It
doesnt work or doesnt work properly unless you physically add their accounts
to the local group then they work fine.
Is there a way to just make "Domain Users" an all encompassing account on
the local workstations so anyone with a logon can use it without having to be
configured?
Even if we used roaming profiles, would this manual setup still be required?
What are we missing here?
